Metro Boston Renegades Program

Newton Girls Soccer (NGS) is the largest all-girls soccer club in Massachusetts serving over 1,500 girls each year from 1st grade through high school and offering both recreational and travel programs. Mass Premier Soccer (MPS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of soccer talent that provides clinics, camps, competitive youth leagues and sponsors teams (including the Boston Renegades and Cape Cod Crusaders) in player development leagues such as Super Y-League.

NGS and MPS have teamed up to create the Metro Boston Renegades teams. This program offers a high level developmental soccer alternative for players who want premier-level instruction and competition. The Newton-based program offers one Renegades team at the U10, U11, U12 and U13 age group. Teams will train in Newton and compete in Sunday games against similar Mass Premier Soccer programs based throughout Massachusetts. Instruction and coaching will be from Mass Premier Soccer’s professional coaching staff led by Peter Bradley, a USSF “A” licensed coach and former head coach of the Boston Renegades.

Why is the Metro Boston Renegades Program Being Offered?

The Metro Boston Renegades program is being offered to provide a better alternative to club programs, which are often found by many players and parents to be inconvenient, focused more on winning than player development, and providing uneven coaching and competition. The Newton-based Renegades program recognizes that some players who participate in NGS travel program want more soccer than they get from their NGS team, but would like the convenience of training in Newton along with coordination between their NGS coach and Renegades coach. With a focus on player development, the Metro Boston Renegades teams are an excellent feeder to Newton’s high school programs.

Is the Metro Boston Renegades Program for everyone?

No. NGS offers programs for a wide range of soccer interests and abilities. We will continue our commitment to providing top notch intramural and travel programs with many clinics and instructional opportunities. Many strong players on top teams have commitments to other activities, and participation is not mandatory or factored in to NGS team selection. Those who do play for the Renegades will have a strong commitment and dedication to the development of their soccer skills. 

School of Excellence Program Description:

• All coaching will be provided by the Mass Premier Soccer staff of professionals
• Programs offered for Under 10, Under 11, Under 12 and Under 13.
• Program runs for 9 weeks in fall and spring. A 9 week winter program is also offered.
• Players are required to also play for an NGS team. A limited number of slots are available for Brookline Youth Soccer players and those from other towns.
• Applicants are selected by Mass Premier Soccer staff independent from placement process for their town team.
• Program is open to all NGS players.
• Teams will train in Newton twice per week (once for U10) during the fall and spring seasons and have a game on Sunday afternoons.
• Practices during the fall and spring are on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. (U10 on Monday only).
• All home games will be played in Newton
• Cost will be approximately $450 per season (in addition to NGS registration) with full and partial scholarships available.

Tryouts:
