Newton Girls Soccer Intramural Program – 3rd Grade |
|
Newton Girls Soccer (“NGS”) is providing an additional day of soccer for all its 3rd grade players. This is an opportunity to be coached by professionals, build skills, scrimmage and HAVE FUN PLAYING SOCCER! · This six week program will be held each Sunday starting on April 13, 2003 and will continue through May 18, 2003. These clinics will not replace games on Saturdays or practices with the girls’ intramural teams. · This is an opportunity for each of the girls to have more fun playing and learning soccer skills. · These clinics and scrimmages are voluntary, not mandatory. There is no cost to attend these sessions. · The sessions will be led by coaches from the Mass Premier Soccer Academy (MPS). Players from the Boston Renegades (2002 National Champions Women’s W-1 League) will also coach and attend the sessions. Tickets to a Renegades home game on Saturday May 17th will be given to each girl participating in the program. · With over 200 girls playing soccer in the 3rd grade NGS has scheduled 3 sessions for the clinics. This is the only way to assure enough coaches and field availability. The sessions are as follows:
· NGS will assign girls to these time slots based upon school districts to provide the greatest ease of attendance. The clinics will be held at Newton North High School field. NGS would like as many girls as possible to attend these sessions, so that adjustments can be made to these time assignments to accommodate conflicts. Actual time assignments will be forwarded to each play along with a procedure for dealing with time conflicts prior to the start of the intramural season. · Player Safety – No jewelry of any kind may be worn during the clinics or scrimmages—no bracelets, necklaces, earrings or rings. Players may not wear beads, barrettes or other hard/sharp items. Newly pierced ears may not be taped. Players may not participate with casts or splints of any kind. NO EXCEPTIONS! · Equipment – All players should wear an intramural jersey. Non-metal cleats (recommended) or sneakers are the only footwear allowed. Shin guards are mandatory. Each player must bring her own ball and water bottle. · Questions: Contact Michael Stoller at grade3clinics@newtongirlssoccer.org. |
