Thank you for entering your team in the 18th annual Newton Girls Soccer Columbus Day tournament.  We have over sixty about 70 teams registered this year and we're looking forward to a fun and exciting tournament.

To complete your registration

This is a confirmation that your application to our tournament has been accepted, and it is now time to perform some additional steps necessary to complete your registration:

  1. If you have not already done so, we need you to log into your www.soccerscheduler.com account (note that the website might also identify itself as gotsoccer.com or gotsport.com -- they're all the same company) and enter your team roster (click on the roster button once you login).  The roster you enter here will serve as your official roster for the tournament.  It is not necessary to upload player photographs, although you're welcome to do so if you wish.  It is also not necessary to enter the "Parent's Address" information.
  2. Have a parent or legal guardian fill out and sign two copies of the Medical release form located on the NGS tournament website.  (You should give us one copy of the Medical release form and keep one for yourselves.)
  3. Prepare an official paper copy of your team's roster stamped by either your state organization (e.g. MYSA), or your town registrar.  If your team has players from more than one team in your town, you may submit the rosters of the various teams that your players are drawn from, but please note on the rosters which players are attending the tournament.  We need the rosters to ensure that your players have all been officially registered with your state organization.

Document delivery

You have four choices for delivery of the paper documents.  The out of state teams are especially urged to submit their paperwork in advance.

  1. Deliver all paperwork Friday night, Oct 6, between 6:30PM and 9:00PM to the pre-tournament HQ room at the Sheraton Needham Hotel.
  2. Fax paperwork to (320) 306-5462 any time before October 6.  Please set your fax machine to fine resolution.
  3. Send all paperwork -- well before Oct 6 -- by US Mail to:

    Newton Girls Soccer
    c/o Nina Levin
    27 Oak Street
    Newton Upper Falls, MA 02464
  4. Last resort: deliver all paperwork to the HQ tent on Brown field at least one hour before your first game on Saturday, Oct 7.  Note – your first game might be at 8:00AM.

Schedule

The tournament schedule, and detailed field maps will be posted to the web site by the end of this week, and you will be emailed a notification.  The online schedule will be maintained throughout the tournament and we will try to post scores as they are reported (providing we can maintain an internet connection from the HQ tent).

Patches

This is a patch tournament!  Please remember to bring a large supply of patches for all of your girls to trade – at least enough to supply all the players of all the teams that you will be playing.

Questions

Please email cdtourn@newtongirlssoccer.org with any questions you might have concerning the tournament or the soccerscheduler.com web site.  In particular, if you’ve misplaced your login instructions, we can easily send those to you.

Sincerely,

The 2006 NGS Columbus Day Tournament Directors
