Fall 2008 Newton Girls Soccer Online Registration

Please make sure you register your child for the correct program as shown below. If you have any questions about what the different programs are, how teams are formed, etc, please read The Registration and Player Selection Process.

May 23, 2008	Travel U12 includes U11 (usually 5th & 6th graders)	born after 31 July 1996
May 23, 2008	Travel U14 includes U13 (usually 7th & 8th graders)	born after 31 July 1994
Late registration is usually possible if space is available. It might still be possible register after a program is full, but your registration will be put on a waitlist. Names will be taken off the waitlist on a first-come, first-serve basis. If your daughter does not end up getting placed on a team, you will be issued a refund. There is a $15 fee for late registration. This is automatically included in the online price.

New Registration
System

NGS has switched to a new online registration provider. The registration form is now several more steps, but we believe there are significant benefits to the system. Please click here if you're interested in learning about the benefits we expect from the new system.

Please remember that the "account" you create should be in the name of a responsible adult parent or guardian. You enter that information first. Your child is the "Registrant", and will be entered later.

Note -- since registration began late this this year, we've moved the travel registration deadline back to May 23. Next year the deadline will once again be May 1, as usual.

Scholarship	It is the policy of Newton Girls Soccer that no girl should be denied the opportunity to play soccer due to her family's financial situation. Those applying for a scholarship should send a note to the NGS President. All scholarship requests are confidential. (Note -- it is no longer necessary to use a paper form when applying for a scholarship. if your scholarship is granted you will receive instructions for how to register online.)
Non-credit card registrants	Online registration is designed to simplify the process for parents and NGS volunteers, and simplifies the registration process by allowing payment by credit card. NGS strongly encourages all registrants to use the on-line system. Those that need to register offline by check may do so by filling out the paper form and mailing it to NGS with a check.
Multiple child discount	NGS provides a $20 discount for the second child in the same family, and a $30 per-child discount on each additional child (3rd or beyond). With the new registration system it is no longer necessary to register all children at the same time to receive the sibling discount. But you are still encouraged to do so if that's convenient for you.
Refunds	Registrants who must cancel prior to June 10 (for travel) or July 31 (for IM) can receive a refund of their registration fee, less $6 for processing. After those dates, there are no refunds. Please register only if you're sure you can play. Late dropouts can leave teams shorthanded, making things difficult for the remaining players.
Player Safety	No jewelry of any kind may be worn during play--no bracelets, necklaces, earrings or rings. Players may not wear beads, barrettes or other hard/sharp items. Newly pierced ears may not be taped. Players may not participate with casts or splints of any kind. Shinguards must be completely covered by socks at all times. NO EXCEPTIONS!
You cannot register without a valid email address	Your email address is also the name of your registration account. Also, all communication from NGS concerning you child's participation in our soccer programs will use the email address supplied. CountMeIn.com will keep your email address and other information on behalf of NGS. Our agreement with them does not permit the use of this information for any other purpose.
Friend requests	It is only possible request team placement with a friend in the Intramural program. You may request one friend and only one friend and that friend must request you. If you try to squeeze two names in the friend request field, it will just be ignored, particularly since we match these by computer now. To make matching easier, we ask that you enter the full and precise first and last name of your friend. This is much easier if families use their child's proper legal name when registering and not nicknames. I.e. please register "Elizabeth Smith", not "beth smith".
Last but not least...	When you are finished registering online you should receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive this confirmation, please email the to confirm your registration was successful.
