Newton Girls Soccer
Spring 2001 Intramural Program

1st grade IM team assignments will be sent out the week of April 2, 2001.
1st grade games start on April 14.

All other IM team assignments should already have been sent out.  All games except 1st grade start April 7.

NGS offers spring intramural soccer for players in Grades 1 through 6. This is a recreational soccer program, organized by school grade and consisting of games against other teams of Newton girls.

Grades 1, 2 and 3
Grades 4, 5 and 6

REGISTRATION PACKETS MUST BE RECEIVED BY JANUARY 15, 2001
Timely registration is required to guarantee a player's spot on a team.

Registrations received after January 15, 2001 will incur a late fee.

Registrations received after February 23, 2001 will be placed
on a waiting list and there will be no guarantee of team placement.

Spring 2001 Travel Program

Grades 4 and above

NGS offers spring travel (BAYS) soccer for players in Grades 4 and above. In the BAYS program, girls are placed on teams according to their skill levels. Games are played against teams from nearby towns. Girls are grouped by age (not grade), as follows:

U10 = Born after 7/31/90 U12 = Born after 7/31/88
U14 = Born after 7/31/86 U16 = Born after 7/31/84
  U18 = Born after 7/31/82

Players born between August 1, 1990 and December 31, 1990,
have the option of playing either U 10 or U-12 soccer.

Players born between August 1, 1988 and December 31, 1988
have the option of playing either U 12 or U-14 soccer.

Players born between August 1, 1986 and December 31, 1986
have the option of playing either U 14 soccer

Players born between August 1, 1984 and December 31, 1984
have the option of playing either U-16 or U18 soccer.

NGS strongly recommends that these players carefully consider
their selection and make an informed decision

Tryouts

NGS will be holding tryouts for 4th and 5th-graders wanting to play U10 soccer in the spring. Anyone currently playing on a U10 travel team will remain on that team and does not need to come to the tryouts. All other U10 girls are strongly encouraged to attend.

NEWTON SOUTH HIGH

U10 -- 2:00pm - 5:00pm ON OCTOBER 22, 2000

All girls wanting to play in the spring will be placed on a team.

There are no tryouts for other age groups as fall travel teams will continue into the spring season.

IN ORDER TO BE GUARANTEED A SPOT AT THE TRYOUTS.

ALL OTHER U10, U12, U14, U16 AND U18 REGISTRATIONS
MUST BE RECEIVED BY NOVEMBER 15, 2000
